How to Make Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

The key ingredient is several pounds of pork shoulder pork. Look for three to four pounds so that it will fit in your slow cooker. A cup of chicken broth and a variety of seasonings including salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, oregano, cayenne pepper, and apple cider vinegar complete the meal. Oh and don’t forget the BBQ sauce!

How to Cook Pulled Pork

Trim the pork butt of excess fat and place it in the bowl of a slow cooker.

Pour the chicken broth and apple cider vinegar over the top of the meat.

Combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, oregano, and cayenne pepper and sprinkle the mixture over the top of the meat.

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for six hours or low for 12 hours.

When the cook time is up, remove the meat from the slow cooker and use a fork to shred it. 

Remove most of the liquid from the slow cooker, leaving around one cup. Place the meat back in the bowl and add the BBQ sauce. Stir to coat.

Place the lid back on the slow cooker and allow to simmer for 10 minutes before serving.
